Hello and happy mid-May! This month has been flying by and I’m for once not complaining about that.
Typically if I find myself busy every single day of the week, I get a bit crabby. Perhaps it’s the promise of summer and slower days ahead, or my miracle MS medicine that keeps me (mostly) riding high, but either way each day has been met with (mostly) smiles.

Artsfest on Walnut was a success! I had a pop-up booth for “Wandering Words,” which included a vending machine of pocket poems, poets crafting pieces on the spot, and authors selling books. Aside from a little rain, the event was so wonderful, and I’m eager to host another pop-up soon!
My oldest niece graduated high school! Not only top of her class, but throughout her high school career she was involved in every single school play. The whole family is blown away by her achievements and we are so very proud of her! ConGRADulations Ivy!
My twin sister had a big surgery to cancel her ‘monthly subscription.’ Don’t worry, I’m not going to give TMI - you can follow her on Instagram for that. And she’s worth following!
The Rountree Historic Homes Tour was a beautiful new event that I was lucky enough to attend and have my books at! I’m so inspired now…I almost rearranged my house but settled on a quick vacuum.
ANTIQUES ROADSHOW! My friend Avery invited me to join along and we had the best time, eating and drinking our way through Bentonville and finding our treasures are more trinkets than anything. But what a great experience!
The rest of the month is slowing down, with summer right around the corner. My big project this week, aside from a newspaper article on tourism, is to make my kiddos’ summer chore chart and rewards card. Each year I fill a bingo card with allowance amounts that they get to scratch off, lotto style, based on chore completion. In the past I included rewards like, “activity of your choice,” but my 12 and 14-year-olds just want cold hard cash now. So I will oblige.
I hope your month has had moments of joy and nothing but (metaphorical) blue skies ahead (because in our area, it’s been rain rain rain). Paid subscribers this month get a set of pocket poetry digital downloads as a big thank you for the ongoing support, along with my current “latest crazes.” If you’d like to receive these, subscribe today!
Thanks as always for reading my rambles. I’d love to know more about what keeps you here - feel free to respond to the poll below. See you soon!
